Be Thankful That It Happened at All

Sometimes, when you accomplish something special, it overshadows the rest of your life.

When Rupert Holmes’ song “Escape” became the number one song in TWO decades, it happened to him. He said, “I have a feeling that if I saved an entire orphanage from a fire and carried the last child out on my shoulders, as I stood there charred and smoking, they’d say, ‘Aren’t you the guy who wrote The Pina Colada Song?’” No doubt.

But, hey—when you capture lightning in a bottle, just be thankful that it happened at all.

One of heaven’s blessings will be the opportunity to sit down and talk with the men and women we’ve read about in the Bible who did extraordinary things. As they tell us about the circumstances and challenges that they faced and conquered with God’s help, we will be inspired all over again.

And, we will be reminded that the same God and Father of us all was there helping us, too.
